TITLE: METHOD STATEMENT FOR THE INSTALLATION OF PPR PIPES FOR WATER LINE
1.PURPOSE
● The Purpose of this method statement is to detail the procedure of Jointing of PPR-PN20 Pipes and Fittings for Potable and Non-Potable Water line. Ensure that proper installation procedure shall be implemented in accordance with existing general provisions.
2. SCOPE OF WORK
● The work under this section includes providing all manpower, tools and equipment’s for jointing PPR Pipes and fittings.
3. PROCEDURE
● Secure work permits before proceeding to the required work.
● Make sure that PPE's are complete.
● Prepare the following tools and equipments:
- Pipe Cutter - Meter Tape
- Fusion Machine - Extension Cord
- Socket Welder - Clean Cloth
- Pencil / Marker
● Layout the pipe routing on the walls and do the chipping works.
● Cut the pipes rectangular with pipe cutters. Take care that the pipe axis is free from burrs or cutting debris and remove where necessary. Mark the welding depth at the end of the pipe according to the socket depth of the fittings.
● Clean the socket and spigot with cleansing clothes.
● After the welding machine reaches the necessary operating temperature, push the end of the pipe and fittings, without turning, up to the welding deep into the welding tool. Heat up the pipe’s spigot and fittings socket according to the following heating time.
● After heating time, quickly remove the pipe and the fittings from the welding tools. Join them immediately without turning, until the marked welding depth is covered by the bead of the PPR from fittings.
● The joint elements have to be fixed during the specified assembly time. After cooling period, the fused joint is ready for use.
● Install the soldered pipes and fittings.
