TITLE: STATEMENT OF METHODOLOGY FOR INSTALLATION OF PERFORATED PIPE PURPOSE: The puprpose of this methodology is to illustrate the guidelines and procedures on the installation of Perforated Pipeping and underdrain works. SCOPE: The work procedure shall apply to Plumbing System for the Construction of all permanent and major temporary works. PROCEDURES: A. PRE-INSTALLATION 1. Secure the approved plans and drawings to be used for the activity 2. Verify if the area is ready for the activity 3. prepare all the  materials needed based on the approved material submittals. Materials should be checked and inspected upon delivery prior to installation. 4. Prepare all the required manpower, tools and equipments, and PPE for the installation. 5. Statement of Methodology for Gravity Leak Test (NON PRESSURIZED PIPING SYSTEM)

TITLE: GRAVITY LEAK TEST (NON PRESSURIZED PIPING SYSTEM)






1. Purpose
      The purpose of this method statement is to detail the Hydrostatic Test for Non-Pressurized Piping System. Ensure that proper installation procedure shall be implemented in accordance with existing general provision

2. Scope of Work

The work under this section includes providing all manpower, tools and equipments for hydrostatic testing. 


3.    Procedure

Make sure that all tools and PPE’s are complete.
Secure work permits before proceeding to the required work.
Prepare all the following needed tools for testing.

- Motorized Test Pump
- Testing Manifold
- Pipe Wrench
- Calibrated Pressure Gauge (Refer to attached sticker)
- Adjustable Wrench
- Masking Tape
- Drum and Hose

Prepare the necessary documents such as inspection and testing permits with specified key plan location attached as well as other pertinent documents needed.
Check all connections of riser and branches for open connections to prevent leakage that can cause damages. Fill up the pre inspection check lists.
The piping system shall be hydrostatically tested by “Gravity Test” in accordance with the requirements of the specifications, and shall be no drop in water level or visible leakage when designated inspection/test point at the highest end of the piping system under test. 
Pour water at the highest point of the pipeline (1 meter above the finish floor line) allowing air to escape and until water overflows at the lowest extended opening.
Allow water to stand for Two (2) hours during which time there shall be no drop in water level by more than 100mm.
All reading shall be recorded on the testing form, stating the area being tested.
Failed test shall be immediately recorded and rectified.
Repeat the hydrostatic testing after rectifications are done. Record the water level and check after 2 hours.
If no more leaks, the system will be subjected to flushing to remove and clean all foreign materials inside the piping system. ”See Method Statement for Flushing”. 
 
     Note: Do not forget to cordon off the area of work with caution tape or barricade it properly. Put warning signages around the area to work on.
